BENAPOLE (JESSORE): Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) held a man with nine gold bars from Benapole-Putkhali frontier of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The detainee is identified as Faruq Hossain, resident of Putkhali of the district.

BGB sources said that a team of BGB raided the area around 2:00pm and detained Faruq along with the gold bars while he was crossing the border illegally to go to India.

BGB handed over Babul to Benapole Port Police Station.

BGB 23 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Abdur Rahim confirmed the matter to banglanews.
