DHAKA: Bangladeshi Community in Belgium marked 21st February, the International Mother Language Day, in Brussels with due fervor and solemnity.
Bangladesh embassy in Brussels arranged the program, said an external publicity wing of foreign affairs ministry press release Sunday afternoon.
According to the release, the program featured discussion and cultural event.
However, the program started with paying homage to the language martyrs by placing floral wreaths at the makeshift monument erected at the “Cours Gordon Bennett” in Ixelles Commune of the city early Saturday.
Bangladesh ambassador to Belgium Ismat Jahan along with the members of the expatriate Bangladeshi community joined the event, graced by Willy, mayor of Ixelles as a guest of honor.
