FROM RESCUE BOAT (MID PADMA): The government will provide Tk 1.25 lakh to family members of each deceased of the launch MV Mostofa capsized Sunday noon in mid Padma River.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) chairman Samsuddoha Khondaker disclosed the information Sunday evening.
He, while visiting the spot, said that among the amount, BIWTA will provide Tk 1.5 lakh, in which Tk 5,000 for the funeral and the rest will be given from the fund of Manikganj deputy commissioner.
On the other hand, law enforcers have already seized the cargo, Nargis-1, which hit MV Mostofa Sunday noon in mid Padma River with more than 150 passengers aboard.
