4 found shot dead in Mirpur

DHAKA: Four unidentified people, aged between 18 to 30 years, were found shot dead at different places in capital’s Mirpur area early Monday.

Being informed from locals, police rushed in and sent the bodies to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) around 1:00am.

Mirpur Model Thana Sub Inspector (SI) Masud Parvez told banglanews an anonymous man phoned him and informed that angry mob lynched three anarchists after catching them with petrol bombs in Kazipara area of Mirpur.

Later, police rushed to the spot and recovered them in critical condition and taken to the DMCH where the attending doctors declared them dead.

Hospital sources said the bodies bore several bullet injury marks.

Police primarily suspected that they were saboteurs during hartal-blockade.

In another incident, police recovered a young man’s body from under the over bridge in Mirpur Technical area at the same time.

The youth was whisked of to DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries around 2:00am.

SI Jahirul Islam of the Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.
