270 platoons BGB deployed to thwart sabotage

DHAKA: A total of 270 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed across the country on Monday to prevent sabotage as the 72-hr nationwide hartal rolled into second day, coupled with non-stop blockade called by BNP-led alliance.

BGB Headquarters’ public relations officer Mohammad Mohsin Reza confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Mohsin said that some six platoons of BGB personnel have been deployed in Dhaka who will remain posted till 6:00pm from the dawn.

Besides, 264 platoons BGB member have also been deployed outside the capital. They have been deployed at 6:00am and will patrol till 6:00am Monday.

Of which, 114 platoons will escort the running vehicles on the highways and 150 platoons will provide security at different places to prevent sabotages and keep the law and order situations under control.

Mohsin Reza also informed that an additional 70 platoons BGB men have been kept standby for emergency deployment across the country.
