ICT accepts 15 eminent personalities’ apology

DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Monday accepted the apologies of 15 eminent personalities out of 49 for expressing their concern over Dhaka-based British journalist David Bergman’s conviction in a contempt charge.

Earlier on January 27, in response to an order of the tribunal, the persons sought the unconditional apology to the court for their statement.

The three-member tribunal led by its chairman Justice Obaidul Hasan passed the order.

Moreover, the tribunal fixed March 3 to announce its order whether contempt of court charge would be brought against the rest 34 eminent personalities for issuing the statement and the New York Times for publishing editorial criticizing the punishment of Bergman
