SYLHET: Police recovered bodies of young lovers hanging from a tree in Goainghat upazila in Sylhet on Monday.

The victims were identified as Sagar Bhumij (18), son of Sunil Bhumij and Sagar’s lover Surabhi Munda (18), daughter of Mantu Munda.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Goainghat Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Hye said that locals informed the police after seeing the bodies hanging from a jackfruit tree.

Recovering the bodies, police sent them to hospital morgue, the OC added.

Quoting the locals, the OC further said that the pair was involved in a relationship. Surabhi’s parents settled her marriage with another person on February 27.

However, they were missing from Sunday midnight. Later on Monday morning, locals found them hanging.
