SYLHET: Four workers were killed in a landslide at Bholaganj stone quarry of the district on Sunday night.

The deceased are identified as Moin Uddin, 40, Danu Mia, 22, Selim Mia, 20, Emdadul Haque, 40.

Local sources said that the accident took place when a large chunk of land suddenly fell on the workers in the area around 10:00pm while they were tapping the rocks.

The slide left the four workers dead.

They were collecting stones from 100-150 feet deep chuckhole, locals added.

However, police along with locals recovered the bodies after a strenuous effort around 2:00pm on Monday.

Companiganj Thana Officer-in-Charge Delwar Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
