DHAKA: A minor and a college girl allegedly committed suicide in city’s Mirpur and Bangshal areas respectively on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Isanur, 10, resident of Mirpur and Liza Moni alias Bithi, 20, student of Badrunnesa College, daughter of Helal Uddin, of Bangshal.

In Mirpur, Isanur allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a scarf from the ceiling of a bathroom around 2:00pm.

However, rescuing Isanur, her uncle Abdur Rahman rushed her to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where on-duty doctor declared her dead.

The reason behind her suicide could not be known immediately.

On the other hand, a college girl, Bithi, committed suicide by jumping from the rooftop of a four-storey building in city’s Bangshal area on early Monday.

Bithi’s uncle Salahuddin told banglanews that his niece had a relation with a boy. She might have committed suicide over the relationship.

Police held the Bithi’s lover in this connection.

Bangshal Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Kuddus confirmed the matter to banglanews.
