No clemency for corruption: PM Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday said nobody got clemency for corruption in the past and vowed that none will also be spared for it in the future.

She also mentioned her government’s initiatives in establishing rule of law in every sector.

The premier made the assertions at Defence Services Command and Staff College graduation degree distribution program in city’s Mirpur area.

She said that the expansion of digital technology will ensure transparency and accountability.

“We are working to make Bangladesh a mid-income nation before 2021,” the PM reiterated.

Upholding the defence forces’ contribution to UN peacekeeping missions, she said that members of Bangladesh armed forces have brightened the image of the country by their commendable works in the field of peace, democracy, health, education and social development in different countries.

In her speech, the PM announced that her incumbent government will take all necessary measures for the development and welfare of the defence forces.
