DHAKA: Convener of Ganajagaran Mancha Imran H Sarker announced that the activists of the mancha will continue sit-in program till the arrest of blogger and writer Avijit Roy’s killers.

He made the announcement while addressing the sit-in that started in front of National Museum at Shahbagh intersection in city.

He considered the attack was against freedom of speech, secular ideology and the spirit of liberation war of the country.

Imran also called upon the people to fight back against all kinds of extremism and terrorism to avoid the country’s turning into another hole like Pakistan.

Economist Abul Barakat also asked the attendees of the sit-in to wage fight against terrorism otherwise each and every person would be affected by it.

He also urged government to squeeze the flow of money of extremists.

Ganajagaran Mancha activists, Ganajagaran activists, Udichi activists including its central committee member Sanatan Malo, and human rights activist Aroma Dutta were, among others, also present in the program.

On Thursday night, Bbogger and writer Abhijit Roy, 37, was hacked to death by a group of miscreants and his wife, Rafida Ahamed Banya, 34, sustained severe injuries at TSC intersection of Dhaka University (DU).
