NOAKHALI: Miscreants chopped a young man to death at West Maizdi village under Sadar upazila of the district Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Redwan Hossain, son of Abdul Motaleb of the village.

Noakhali Sadar Thana officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Quoting locals, he said some local youths called Redwan out at night when he was in a shop adjacent to his house.

Later, locals spotted the chopped body of Redwan near Maizdi-Sujapur road around 10:30pm and informed the police.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the Noakhali Medical College Hospital morgue.

The victim might have been killed over previous enmity with local youths, the OC said.
