DHAKA: Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) detained militant Farabi Shafiur Rahman from Jatrabari in Dhaka for his suspected involvement in Blogger Abijit Roy killing.

Deputy Director of Rab Legal and Media wing Major Rumman Mahmud confirmed the matter saying he was detained on Monday morning and details to be informed at 2:00pm in a press briefing at Rab Headquarters.

Farabi had been threatening on various social media to kill Avijit Roy.

On last Thursday night, unidentified assailants hacked writer Avijit Roy to death and seriously injured his wife Rafida Ahmed Bonya near TSC intersection at Dhaka University.
