KUSHTIA: A Secondary School Certificate (SSC) candidate was stabbed over an altercation on playing cricket at the playground at Jogoti of the district Monday afternoon.

The deceased candidate was identified as Imran, 15, son of one Ramjan Khan Hitu, hailed from Jogoti and a student of Kolokakoli High School.

Kushtia Model Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Khaleq told banglanews that Imran and his friend Emon were leading their respective sides while playing cricket at Jogoti High School ground.

At one stage of an altercation, opposition players stabbed Imran indiscriminately, he added.

Later, locals rushed Imran to Kushtia General Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead on arrival.
