Pakistan steady after Jamshed fails

DHAKA: Pakistan are facing United Arab Emirates bowlers at McLean Park, Napier in the Pool B match of the ICC Cricket World Cup -2015 on Wednesday.

Till filing of this report, Pakistan have lost opener Jamshed’s wicket to score 64 runs at the end of over-14.

Ahmed Shehzad and Haris Sohail are at the crease 25 off 41 balls and 30 off 31 balls respectively.

Earlier, Mohamed Tauqir, the UAE captain, won the toss and inserted Pakistan in Napier.

UAE named the same XI that was thrashed by India, and the decision to bowl first on a pitch that is usually full of runs might be interpreted as a reaction to that game. UAE were bowled out for just 102 in Perth.

The match is effectively a must-win encounter for the two teams propping up the Group B table. Pakistan have won only once in their first three fixtures and UAE remain winless.
