ISHWARDI, PABNA: Bangladesh Sugarcane Research Institute (BSRI) Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) Dr M Abdulalh, 58, was killed in road accident in Iswardi Upazila of the district on Wednesday.

Dr Abdullah was hit by the car of BSRI director general Dr Khalilur Rahman around 10:00am when he was walking through a road inside the BSRI compound in Ishwardi, leaving him injured critically.

The BSRI DG, who was driving the car, along with foreign delegation was heading for sugar beet farm to visit the project this morning, said witnesses.

The injured was initially admitted to Upazila Health Complex. Later, he succumbed to his injuries on way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Confirming the matter, Ishwardi Thana Officer-in-Charge Biman Kumar Das told banglanews that legal action would be taken after receiving complaint.
