FENI: A housewife was shot to death over a land dispute at Bogadana village under Sonagachhi Upazila of the district Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Bibi Hazera, 26, wife of Gias Uddin of same village.

Sonagazi thana officer-in-charge Nabir Hossain told banglanews that the deceased’s brother Faruk had a long standing dispute with neighbor Jasim over land and others issues.

Following the dispute, they locked into an altercation this morning and at one stage, Jasim opened fire targeting Hazera and fled the scene, leaving her spot dead.

On information, a team of police led by the OC visited the spot and sent to body to Feni Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police are trying to arrest the killer, he added.
