30 houses gutted in Nilphamari fire

NILPHAMARI: At least 30 houses were gutted when a fire broke out at a cowshed in West Dalirampur village under Kishoreganj Upazila of the district early Monday.

Senior Station Master Enamul Haque of Nilphamari Fire Service confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Quoting locals Enamul said the fire originated from a mosquito coil at a cowshed of the village at Sunday midnight and soon the adjacent houses, leaving 30 houses burnt to ashes.

Locals said four cows also were burnt alive in the fire. However, the loss from the fire has been estimated at Tk 10 lakh.

Confirming the matter, Kishoreganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) M Siddiqur Rahman said project implement officer was asked to prepare the list of the affected families to provide financial assistance.
