DHAKA: Detective Branch (DB) of police detained two people with 14 one-shooter guns and four rounds of bullets from Chunkutia connecting road in South Keraniganj of the district Tuesday night.

The deceased were Mizan, 30, Faruk, 26.

Police, on suspicion, challenged the duo while they, carrying a bag, were crossing a DB check post set up in the area around 9:30pm.

They opened firing targeting the policemen who retaliated with bullets, leaving a man injured.

Police nabbed the injured along with another person and recovered 14 one-shooter guns and four rounds of the bullets inside the bag.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Officer-In-Charge (OC) Jamal Uddin of South Keraniganj Thana said police filed a case   against the detainees in this connection.

District DB Inspector Sakhawat Hossain told banglanews that police are looking into the matter.
