DHAKA: The two-day elections of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) began Sunday morning to elect a new executive committee of the association for 2015-2016.

Casting began at 10:00am in 56 booths and will continue till 5:00pm Monday.

Convener of election sub-committee Advocate Harunur Rashid said a total of 4,362 members will cast their vote to elect 14 leaders out of 31 candidates.

The candidates from pro-Awami League Sammilita Ainjibi Samannaya Parishad will contest under the banner of White Panel and pro-BNP-Jamaat lawyers will contest from the Blue Panel.

From White Panel Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun is contesting for the president post while Advocate Momtaz Uddin Mehedi for the secretary post.

Moreover, Advocate Khandaker Mahbub Hossain and Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon are contesting from Blue Panel for the posts of the president and the secretary respectively.
