DHAKA: A day-long flag festival began Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Monday with a motto “Flag for Revolution, Flag of Pride”.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque inaugurated the festival at 10:30am.

Prime Minister’s political adviser HT Imam said there, “All countries uprooted the anti-liberation force immediately after victory, but alas we could not.”

He also added, Bangladesh could have been more developed than Malaysia and Singapore if Bangabandhu were alive.

The program was also addressed, among others, by former Army Chief Major General (retd) KM Shafiullah, IGP AKM Shahidul Haque, National University VC Professor Harun Or Rashid.

After the discussion, a flag rally held with the participation of National and other public and private universities-colleges and police.

Earlier, a drawing contest of the children held there and invited guest visited stalls of police, Janata and Sonali Banks.
