DHAKA: The High Court (HC) on Monday rejected the bail plea of ETV Chairman Abdus Salam.

An HC vacation bench comprising Justice Quamrul Islam Siddiqui and Justice M Amir Hossain passed the order.

Lawyer Abdur Rab Chowdhury moved for Salam in the court while deputy attorney general M Bashir Ullah moved for the state.

Police filed the sedition case with Tejgaon Police Station on January 8.

Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Salam from in front of ETV office at Karwan Bazar in city in the night of January 6.
