COMILLA: Members of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) kidnapped four members of Detective Branch of Bangladesh Police from Ashabari frontier under Brahmanpara upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The abducted police members are sub-inspector (SI) Gazi Mahbubur Rahman, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sabuj and constables Selim and Zafar.

Commander of Comilla Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-10 Lieutenant Colonel Mokhlesur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said they are informed about the kidnapping that happened around 5:00pm on the day.

However, the reason of the abduction could not be known immediately, the Lieutenant Colonel added.
