DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the deaths of 10 Hindu pilgrims, including seven women, in a stampede in Langalband under Bandar Upazila of the district Friday morning.

In her condolence massage, Hasina prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and expressed sympathy to the family members of the victims.

Press Wing of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) issued the condolence message in this regard.

Earlier in the day, at least 10 pilgrims were stampede to death and 30 others sustained injuries during the ‘Astami Snan’, a major religious festival of the Hindu community.
