Trader stabbed, Tk1.4-lakh mugged

DHAKA: Muggers knifed a vegetable vendor and snatched away Tk 1.4 lakh from his possession in Tejgon area of the city Saturday morning.

The victim was identified as M Ripon, 27, lives near Al Helal Hospital in Mirpur-10 of the city.

The victim told banglanews that he left his house for Karwan Bazar in the morning to buy vegetable. He took a ride in a pickup van on his way with three others those were inside the vehicles. At one stage, they stabbed him, stanched the money, and left him on the street in Karwan Bazar.

Locals rescued Ripon and admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) with injuries in the stomach and throat.

DMCH police outpost assistant Sub-Inspector (SI) Sentu Chandra Das confirmed the matter to banglanews.
