DHAKA: A woman was killed and another injured when a bus hit a rickshaw in Golapbagh area of Jatrabari in the city Monday night.

The decease was identified as Shiuli, 25, while the injured are Shahida, 32. The deceased was a niece of the injured. They resided at Bou Bazar in Golapbag area.

Injured Shahida’s husband Jalil Mian told banglanews that his wife and niece were returning home riding a rickshaw Monday night after visiting an ailing relative. On arrival in front of Monowara Hospital in Golapabagh, a bus hit the rickshaw, leaving them critically injured.

The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where Shiuli succumbed to her injuries around 1:00am.

DMCH police outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector Sentu Chanra confirmed the matter to banglanews.
