DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday enjoined individuals concerned to develop skilled manpower in acquiring, processing, and storing marine resources including fish.

The premier came up with the order in the meeting of national committee on shrimp and fish affairs, headed by her, at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

She put emphasis on utilizing the resources within the maritime boundary of Bangladesh that was achieved through settlement of maritime boundary disputes at international courts against India and Myanmar.

Prime Minister’s press secretary AKM Shamim Chowdhury briefed the journalists after the meeting.

He said the premier also emphasized the export of marine resources including shrimp and other types of fish by processing those properly.

She also put importance on using eco-friendly, developed and sustainable methods for shrimp farming.

Concerned minister, secretary and high-ups of the ministry were also present at the meeting.
