DHAKA: Police members on Monday are asked to be alert following the preparation of hanging war criminal Mohammad Kamaruzzaman, also Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami assistant secretary.

Police headquarters media wing sources confirmed the matter.

A police official, preferring anonymity, told banglanews that the special order was made to avert any untoward situation across the country.

However, Appellate Division on Monday morning rejected the review appeal upholding the death sentence of Kamaruzzaman.

According to the sources, additional security measures have already been taken especially to the areas of them, who were involved in the verdict.

Moreover, additional members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Detective Branch of Police are seen patrolling streets to tighten security in the capital city.
