DHAKA: Four people of a family including a baby boy were injured in a reserve tank explosion in Ganaktuli of Hazaribagh area of the city Monday night.

The injured were identified as Zakir Hossain, 45, his son Shakib, 18, daughter-in-law Rabeaya Akther, 21, and 18-moth-old grandson Nafis.

Victim’s neighbor Azmul told banglanews that they went out of home hearing a bang and found them burnt near the reserve tank of water on the ground floor. The victims were checking water with lighting candle, leading to an explosion that left them injured.

They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). Of them Zakir and Shakib are in critical condition.

DMCH police outpost assistant Su-Inspector Sentu Chandra confirmed the matter to banglanews.
