DHAKA: Armed Police Battalion (APBn) officials detained six persons along with 1.7kg gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Tuesday morning.

The detainees are identified as Quamrul Hasan, 52, and his wife Ismat Ara, 35, Jesmin, 30, Mohsin, 40, Mujibur, 45 and Azad, 52.

APBn senior assistant police super Alamgir Hossain Shimul told banglanews that on suspicion, they searched the luggage of six persons, who came from Malaysia, at the Canopy-1 of the airport around 10:00am.

“We found 12 gold bars and jewelries inside those,” he added.

A case will be filed with Airport Police Station against them in this connection, he added.
