DHAKA: Journalism Alumni Forum of Rajshahi University (JAFRU) on Friday formed a human chain demanding justice of the murder of Wahida Sifat, a student of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Rajshahi University.

The members of JAFRU, several journalists of different media also participated in the human chain that held in front of National Press Club of the city.

The speakers alleged that the in-laws of Wahida killed her after torture for dowry. “Now, her in-laws are trying to prove that Wahida committed suicide,” they added.

The speakers also said JAFRU would go for tougher programs if the administration and government do not take actions against those involved with murder.

President of the organization Sazzad Hossain Shahin, also ex-student of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of RU, presided over the program.

JAFRU vice president Ruhul Kuddus Khan and general secretary F H M Humayun Kabir were, among others, present there.
