DHAKA: Death convict war criminal Muhammad Kamaruzzaman will be hanged anytime after 10:00pm Saturday, said reliable sources from Dhaka Central Jail.

Jail authority is all set to execute the verdict and high ups of the jail including IG Prison Syed Iftekhar, DIG Prison Golam Haider and Additional IG Colonel Kabir entered the jail around 7:00pm.

Besides, four hangmen led by Rana, who performed as assistant during execution of another Jamaat leader Qauder Mollah.

Earlier in the evening, Kamaruzzaman met his family members for the last.

On April 6, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court rejected review petition of Jamaat assistant secretary general leader Muhammad Kamaruzzaman against its verdict that upheld the death penalty of him.

On May 9, 2013, the ICT-2, led-by Justice Obaidul Hassan, awarded capital punishment to the Jamaat assistant secretary general for his crimes against humanity during country’s Liberation War in 1971.
