DHAKA: The executed war criminal Mohammad Kamaruzzaman was buried at his village graveyard in Sherpur on Sunday morning.
After his Namaz-e-Janaza held in Mudipara village of Bajitkhola union under Sherpur sadar upazila, he was buried at 5:05am.
Earlier at 4:20am, his body was taken to his village in Sherpur district.
Carrying his body, an ambulance, escorted by vehicles of Rapid Action Battalion and Police, started for Sherpur from Dhaka Central Jail at 11:40pm on Saturday.
Jamaat-e-Islami leader Muhammad Kamaruzzaman was hanged on Saturday night for his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
He was executed around 10:30pm in Dhaka Central Jail amid beefed up security.
