DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Sunday said tight security measures will be taken around the capital for celebrating Pahela Baishakh, Bangla New Year.
He came up with this assurance in a press conference at DMP media center around 3:00pm.
He said that special security measures will be taken in and around Ramna Batamul and Suhrawardi Udyan to avert any unwanted incident.
The plain dressed police will be deployed at the traditional venues of celebration of the New Year.
Different areas of the city will also be kept under CCTV camera surveillance constantly, he added.
