DHAKA: Armed Police Battalion (APBn) members detained a passenger with 300 grams gold at Shahjalal International Airport Tuesday night.

The detainee was identified as Ziaur Rahman Ferdous, 38.

APBn senior assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Almagir Hossaiin Shimul confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Almagir said the man arrived at the airport by a flight of Tiger Airlines (TR-2656) at night. Police searched him for his suspicious movement while departing the airport and nabbed him seizing the gold.

A case was filed against Ziaur, the ASP added.
