DHAKA: At least 11 people, including three of a family, were killed and scores injured as a tin-shed house collapsed into muddy soil at Hajipara in city’s Rampura area Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Nizam, 45, hailed from Barguna, his wife Kalpana Begum, 42 and daughter-in-law Roksana, 22, a rickshaw-puller Mizanur Rahman, 30, a shopkeeper Harun-or-Rashid, 56, Saiful, 14, Sajida, 19, Farzana, 9, Zakir 40, Runa, 14 and Josna Begum, 40.

Local people claimed another 20 people are still missing in the incident that took place around 4:00pm.

Dhaka divisional fire service unit deputy director ABM Nurul Haque said seven fire fighting units joined the rescue operation.

Moreover, some others were sent to nearby hospitals, said Rampura Thana operation officer sub-inspector (SI) Mostafiz.
