Formal charge against 5 Kishoreganj razakars on May 10

DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 ordered to submit formal charge against five razakars of Kirshoreganj for crimes against humanity in 1971.

The accused are Nasir Uddin Ahmed, 62, a former army officer, his brother Shamsuddin, 60, a member of Kishoreganj Bar Association, Razakar commanders Gazi Abdul Mannan, Hafiz Uddin and Azharul Islam.

Prosecutor Sultan Mahmud Simon submitted the final report on Wednesday and he plead for more time to submit formal charge-sheet.

Later, the members of ICT-1 led by its chairman Enayetur Rahman fixed May 10 for the submission of formal charge.

According to the statement, the five are accused for murder, mass killing, arrest, dacoity and other forms of torture.
