DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave Dhaka on Tuesday to attend Asia-Africa conference in Indonesia capital Jakarta.
The three-day conference, to be attended by some 28 heads of the states or governments from Asia and Africa, will begin on April 22.
Bangladesh state minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam informed the media at a press conference at the ministry in city on Monday.
The PM is expected to return home on April 23, the state minister added.
According to him, a 59-member delegation will accompany the premier.
The PM is also expected to hold a meeting with Indonesia president Zoko Widodo.
She will also talk to the leaders of other participating countries to strengthen trade relations, Shahriar said.
However, Bangladesh foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali and foreign secretary Shahidul Haque reached Jakarta on Sunday.
A foreign secretary level meeting was held on Monday while ministerial meeting will be held on Tuesday before the conference.
Meeting with the top business leaders of Asia and Africa will also be held during the conference.
