MYMENSINGH: Dr M Shamser Ali joined as new director general of Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) in Mymensingh.

He joined here after an order issued by deputy secretary of agriculture ministry Farhana Iris on Monday.

Earlier, Dr Shamser worked as chief scientific officer of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) and Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC).

Officials of BINA met welcomed Dr Shamser with bouquets.

Chief scientific officer of BINA Dr Monowar Karim, scientific association president Dr Zahangir Alam, general secretary Dr Shahidul Islam, officer association president Abdul Baki, general secretary Harun Ar Rashid, Dr Rafiqul Islam, employee association president Altab Masud, general secretary Abdur Rahman, workers association president Anwar Hossain and general secretary Badiuzzaman, among others, paid him a courtesy call.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh unit Chhatra League president Mursheduzzaman Babu and general secretary Saiful Islam also presented him bouquets.
