DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka on Tuesday morning to attend ‘Asian African Conference Commemoration Indonesia 2015’ to be held in Jakarta.
A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, carrying the premier, left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 10:00am where members of the Cabinet saw off her.
The flight is scheduled to land at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta at 4:00pm local time.
An Indonesian minister and Jakarta governor along with Bangladesh ambassador in Indonesia will receive the premier there.
As many as 28 heads of the states or governments from Asia and Africa will attend three-day conference, to be begun on Wednesday.
Earlier on Monday, state minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam told the media that a 59-member delegation would accompany the premier.
PM Hasina is expected to hold a meeting with Indonesia president Zoko Widodo. She will talk to the leaders of other participating countries to strengthen trade relations, added the minster.
The premier is scheduled to return home on April 23, according to Shahriar.
However, Bangladesh foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali and foreign secretary Shahidul Haque reached Jakarta on Sunday.
A foreign secretary level meeting was held on Monday while ministerial meeting will be held on Tuesday before the conference.
Meeting with the top business leaders of Asia and Africa will also be held during the conference.
