HABIGANJ: A pregnant woman and her son died on the spot when a tree collapsed on their house at Badauri village under Baniachang Upazila early Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Nurjahan Begum, 22, who was 8 months pregnant and her four-year-old son Rabin Mia.

Local sources said the mother and son died when a tree collapsed on a tin-shed house during the nor’wester that hit the upazila around 1:30am.

Baniachang Police Station OC Nirmolendu Chakrabarti told banglanews that on information, a team of police visited the spot.
