Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH: A Bangladesh national was shot to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Ghagra frontier of Haribhasa union of the district sadar early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Samiul Haque, 45, son of Samij Uddin of Shyampara of Haribhasa union.

Locals said the BSF troops from Berubari camp opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi cowboys including Samiul when he along with his associates went to Mominpara border to bring cattle, leaving him injured critically.

The associates of Samiul, however, managed to escape the BSF firing.

Later, the fellows brought him for treatment but his succumbed to his injuries.
 
Lieutenant colonel M Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB battalion-18 confirmed the matter to banglanews.
