COMILLA: At least 1,080 bullets were recovered from a hole in agricultural land in Ghospa area under Barura Upazila of the district on Sunday.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barura Thana Nasiruddin said some workers spotted huge bullets hidden beneath the earth while they were digging soil for cultivation.

Later, the workers informed police and the law enforcers recovered 1,080 bullets of Chinese .303 Rifle from the spot.

However, the bullets were damaged. The huge ammunitions are believed to be hidden during the Liberation War in 1971, he added.
