RAJSHAHI: Members of elite Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a leader of banned Islamist outfit Jama`atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) at Atrai in Naogaon.

RAB said the arrested-Hemayet Hossain alias Himu–was the regional commander and an intimate associate of JMB leader Bangla Vai.

“Himu was covertly involved in increasing JMB’s organizational capacity,” a RAB spokesman said.
Himu was also accused of a number of cases including murder.
