DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) has imposed a restriction both on mobile recharge and mobile-banking till 12:00am on Tuesday ahead of elections in Dhaka North, Dhaka South and Chittagong City Corporations.

Mobile banking operators and mobile phone recharge regulatory organization have already been asked not to send more than Tk 1,000 to a cell number as recharge and not more than Tk 1,000 in a single transaction through mobile banking facility.

The central bank on Monday said in its order.

BB governor secretariat general manager AFM Asaduzzaman told banglanews that the restriction has been imposed on Monday noon.
