DHAKA: BNP-supported candidate of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) candidate Tabith Awal sought his personal security from election commission (EC).

He sent a letter to the EC through a returning officer on Monday regarding the issue. Copy of the letter was also sent to home secretary.

The letter says, ‘I am feeling insecure due to the ongoing violent situation. I am requesting to take necessary measures providing me security till April 29’.

The letter also mentioned that several counselors and BNP supporters were threatened during their city polls campaigns in Dhaka.

But the EC has not taken any decision following Tabith’s request till filing the report.

However, elections for Dhaka North and South and Chittagong city corporations will be held on April 28.
