BACK FROM KUALALUMPUR: Bangladeshi professionals are in a very good position in Malaysia.

Their performance at the top level positions in white color job in different international organizations is acclaimed by all.

One professional Azimuddin Khan is working as Insights and Intelligence (Commercial) Head in Air Asia.

Azimuddin, an MBA from IBA of University of Dhaka, told that Bangladeshi people are very meritorious and they are working in very important positions of many multinational companies.

He added data and business analytics is a very modern technology of the world. Bangladeshi people are now operating this technology in many ‘A’ category companies in Malaysia.

Bangladeshi people are now proving their efficiencies in the companies like Air Asia, Cellcom, DG and Telecom.

But expressing some sort of frustration Azimuddin said, ‘Our government takes little initiatives to present our merit in Malaysia’.

For example, he told banglanews that Indian embassy always present the merit and skill of their professionals to Malaysia but there is no such initiatives from Bangladesh embassy even the embassy has no data presenting the country’s expatriate professionals in Malaysia.

But this is not a difficult task. The embassy, if interested can collect the data from the Malaysian immigration department.

Azim said, ‘If our dignity does not increase, then good position in professional career is not evaluated properly’.

The Bangladeshi IT specialists are better and creative than the specialists of other nationals working here. But the Bangladeshi nationals cannot flourish themselves because of lacking of exposure and publicity.

He also said that there is lot of scopes of works in Malaysia. ‘But our IT sectors must publicize the merit of our specialists there.’

Indian High Commission arranges exhibitions on IT sectors there so that they can enter Malaysian market.

Bangladeshi youths are working in higher posts of some mobile companies in Malaysia.

For instance, he mentioned names of one Nafiz, who is working as Business Intelligence head in mobile company DG; Arif, Business Intelligence head of Cellcom mobile; Monem, the product manager of Cellcom; Mohammad Alauddin, the head of research of data mining and machine learning of Telecom Malaysia and Afnan, the head of marketing of Renault.

Nishat is working as the head of PMO of Axiata group. Besides, more ten Bangladeshis are holding the high posts of Axiata. Ten Bangladeshis are working in British Tobacco Company.

In Air Asia, there are more three Bangladeshis including Azim.

Bangladeshis are also working in Malaysian universities. As the Bangladeshis have no contact with each other they have failed to come under an umbrella, Azim added.

‘The message of the quality of the Bangladeshi people must reach the authorities there so that they can evaluate our merit and skill.’

‘We must present the information that our people can give better services in various professional sectors at a lower cost than other foreign experts.’

Azim was graduated from IUT. Later, he did his MBA from IBA of Dhaka varsity and joined Robi mobile company. From there, he was transferred to Malaysian Axiata. After then, he, as first Bangladeshi, joined Air Asia.

There are scores of Bangladeshis doing white color job but they want to keep a safe distance from each other. But they must come under an umbrella and thereby help build a strong community of Bangladeshi professionals.

Otherwise, dignity of the nation will not be brightened. They must present their own country strongly.

In personal life, Azim and his wife both are very much sincere to their professions.
