DHAKA: Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali on Thursday signed the condolence book opened in Nepal embassy in Dhaka in commemoration of thousands of lives and at the loss of properties in Saturday’s earthquakes in the country.
Foreign ministry issued a press release regarding the matter.
The text said, “On behalf of the people and the government of Bangladesh, and on my own behalf, I express our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the government and friendly people of Nepal for the loss of thousands of invaluable lives and properties in the series of earthquakes that hit Nepal recently.”
He also prayed to the Almighty for granting strength and fortitude to the members of the bereaved families.
The release also said, “Bangladesh, at these trying hours, has immediately mobilized whatever resources were available at hand under the direct supervision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and stood by the people and the government of Nepal”.
