COMILLA: Rail communications on Dhaka-Chittagong and Chittagong-Sylhet routes have come to a halt since a wagon of a cargo train derailed in Sadar South Upazila of the district Friday morning.

The Dhaka-bound cargo train veered off the tracks in Harishchar area of the upazila around 9:00am.

Nearby Laksam Government Railway Police (GRP) Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) Ahsan Habib confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Rail communications will become normal after a relief train removed the derailed one, the OC said.
