NOAKHALI: Four people were killed and two other injured severely in a road accident at Basurhat under Companyganj Upazila of the district on Friday noon.

The deceased were identified as Al Manun, 25, son of Sirajul Islam of Fatehpur village of Kabirhat upazila, Sumana, 10, daughter of Belal Hossain of Datterhat area of Sadar upazila, Rozy, 55, wife of Babul Miah of central Karimpur village of Noakhali and auto rickshaw driver Naser, 30.

Witnesses said a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a soil-laden power tiller in front of municipality registrar office around 11:30am, leaving two people dead on the spot and injured five others.

Locals rushed the injured to hospital. But one of the injured died on way to the hospital and another succumbed to his injuries there.

Companyganj Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge Sajedur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
